Suzuki Australia has appointed Ohme as its exclusive home EV charging partner as the brand introduces its first battery-electric vehicle, the e VITARA, to Australian customers.
Announced in September 2026, the partnership will give e VITARA buyers access to an end-to-end home charging solution, with Ohme providing the charger, installation, dealer training and ongoing customer support. Ohme chargers will also be available to view at participating Suzuki dealerships.
The partnership comes as Suzuki enters a new phase of electrification in Australia with the e VITARA, offered locally with two battery options and two drivetrain configurations. The Motion uses a 49kWh LFP battery and front-wheel drive, while the Ultra features a larger 61kWh LFP battery and Suzuki's ALLGRIP-e all-wheel-drive system.
Smart charging at home
Ohme's charging technology is designed to give EV owners greater flexibility over when their vehicle charges. The system can schedule charging for periods when electricity prices are lower, while also taking into account periods when renewable energy generation on the local grid is higher.
The chargers can also integrate with solar power, giving homeowners another option for managing how their EV is charged.
For Suzuki, the partnership provides customers with charging support alongside the vehicle itself, rather than leaving new EV buyers to organise their home charging solution independently.
Michael Pachota, General Manager of Suzuki Australia, said the e VITARA represents an important step in the company's future EV offering and that the Ohme partnership will support customers as Suzuki enters this new phase of electrification.
Suzuki's first Australian EV
The e VITARA is Suzuki's first fully electric vehicle to enter the Australian market. The local range consists of the Motion and Ultra variants.
According to Suzuki Australia's specifications, the Motion produces 106kW and 193Nm, while the Ultra's dual-motor ALLGRIP-e system produces 135kW and 307Nm. Both variants use an 11kW onboard AC charger and CCS2 DC charging.
The e VITARA's arrival also follows Suzuki's existing relationship with Ohme in the UK and Ireland, with the Australian agreement extending that collaboration into another market. Ohme already works with Australian fleet management and mobility provider SG Fleet.
As Suzuki expands into Australia's growing EV market, the company is pairing its first electric model with a dedicated home-charging solution - putting charging infrastructure alongside the vehicle as part of the ownership experience.
