Electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr has detailed local specifications for its upcoming 7GT wagon ahead of its national arrival. The announcement follows a major milestone for the brand, which officially passed 10,000 total vehicle deliveries in Australia - achieving the landmark in roughly half the time it took Tesla to hit the same volume locally.
The rapid sales growth has been driven primarily by the 7X mid-size SUV, which quickly established itself as Australia's second best-selling premium electric SUV behind the Tesla Model Y. To maintain this momentum, Zeekr is expanding into sporty, non-SUV territory with the 7GT.
Key 7GT Specifications & Variants:
- Trim Lineup: Australia will receive three distinct variants - an entry-level Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), a Long Range RWD, and a flagship Performance All-Wheel Drive (AWD).
- Powertrain & Performance: Base and Long Range models utilize a 335 kW rear motor, completing 0-100 km/h in 5.5 to 6.5 seconds. The top-spec Performance AWD model features dual motors producing up to 500 kW of power, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.3 to 3.5 seconds.
- Battery Technology & Range: Base models feature Zeekr’s in-house 75 kWh "Golden Brick" LFP battery pack, while higher variants adopt a 100 kWh NMC pack delivering up to 655 km of driving range (WLTP). Supported by an 800V electrical architecture, 10-to-80% fast charging takes 13 to 16 minutes at peak speeds up to 450 kW.
- Practicality & Design: Built on a dedicated EV platform rather than an adapted petrol chassis, the wagon body offers 456 liters of rear boot space alongside a front trunk (frunk). High-spec models also include active air suspension with adaptive dampers.
Market Positioning:
Expected to arrive in local showrooms near the end of 2026, the 7GT targets Australian drivers seeking a high-performance alternative to traditional petrol sports wagons. Estimated to start around $55,000 to $60,000 before on-road costs, it brings ultra-fast charging and supercar-level acceleration down to accessible price points.
